The film program at New York’s Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will host the first American retrospective of Chilean-born director Alejandro Jodorowsky, from September 23 through October 8, 2010. In the program, Blood into Gold: The Cinematic Alchemy of Alejandro Jodorowsky, the museum will screen six films from the director’s oeuvre, including “Fando y Lis (Fando and Lis),” “El Topo (The Mole),” “Holy Mountain,” and “La Cravate.” The cult-favorite surrealist director, who can count Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and David Lynch as fans, will be in town for screenings and a master class on art-making and the quest for personal and spiritual enlightenment.
