SnagFilms, the online on-demand documentary distribution site, has unveiled SnagLearning, a portal that features a selection of documentary films from the site’s library appropriate for K-12 classrooms. Through a partnership with ePals, the site will offer material to supplement the films and to help integrate them into curricula. Among the films that accompany the debut of the program are “In the Eye of the Whale,” “Inca Mummies: Secrets of the Lost World,” “Life and Times: Nelson Mandela,” and “Jack Johnson’s Music Lessons.”
Commenting on the announcement, SnagFilms CEO Rick Allen noted, “SnagLearning is a natural extension of the SnagFilms brand and our higher calling to enable first-rate documentaries to find a wider audience. This effort will enable educators and families to select films that further a student’s understanding of a subject –anywhere there is an internet connection.”
