Solar Tsunami Destroys New York City

Solar Tsunami Destroys New York City

Don’t you just love doomsday news? Today everyone is talking about the solar tsunami, or “coronal mass ejection,” or simply sun explosion, that’s heading straight towards Earth. I’m pretty sure we’re safe from anything more than perhaps a few power outages and satellite damage. But I have no idea. I’m not a scientist. I’m a movie blogger. And all I know of solar flares is what we’re shown in the movies. Maybe this approaching storm is the beginning of the chain reaction that causes the end of the world in 2012, as seen in “2012.” Or, maybe there will be a quicker effect, such as what occurs in Alex Proyas’ “Knowing.” Maybe Nic Cage dropped out of Joel Schumacher’s “Trespass” because he saw the disaster coming and has gone somewhere to save himself?

Okay, let’s stop with the jokes and seriously take a look at what we could be in store for when this tsunami reaches us. Watch the video demonstration after the jump.
