The Emmys Seemed Like a Good Starting Off Point For My Blogging Return

The Emmys Seemed Like a Good Starting Off Point For My Blogging Return

Until I watched them and got my annual reminder to never watch the Emmys again. Horrendously boring speeches, a painfully unfunny host, and the worst producing of any awards show this side of the People’s Choice Awards. The winners were better than usual (Modern Family, Aaron Paul, Jane Lynch, Eric Stonestreet, Edie Falco), but there were still those bizarrely undeserving ones that the Emmys are classic for (Kyra Sedgewick!?) The most depressing part of all? Claire Danes’ win for “Temple Grandin.” Not that it was undeserved. It’s just that 16 years ago I can vividly and embarrassingly remember crying (yes, crying) when Danes lost her Emmy for “My So-Called Life” to Kathy Baker (c’mon.. I was 11). When she won tonight? It simply reminded me she exists.

Anyway.. I feel like I just wasted 3 hours of my life, and I’m not going to waste 3 more minutes discussing said waste. See you in a few days!
