Citing “excessive language,” the MPAA has slapped a R rating on Amir Bar-Lev’s Pat Tillman doc “The Tillman Story.” Responding to the rating, which he will appeal, the head of the film’s distribution company, Harvey Weinstein, noted, “This is one of the most important films I’ve distributed in my career, and I want my teenage daughter, and the nation’s young adults to be able to watch Pat’s story. We need to learn from this story, and limiting who can see it is not the answer.” The film, which will be released August 20, will get its MPAA appeal August 12.
