Academy Sets Due Date for Foreign Language and Short Films

Foreign Language and Short Film Oscar hopefuls mark your calendars. Friday, October 1 marks the deadline to submit entries in the Live Action Short Film, Animated Short Film and Foreign Language Film categories to be considered for the 83rd Academy Awards. Entries must arrive to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences by 5pm PT that day.

In the short film categories, filmmakers must submit an entry form, one film print or copy, and all other required materials. The same is asked of Foreign Language directors, as well as one English-subtitled film print. Only one picture will be accepted from each country for consideration.

Nominations for the the 83rd edition will be announced live on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 5:30am PT.
