eOne to Take "Jolene" Across U.S.

Entertainment One (eOne) has acquired U.S. rights to Dan Ireland’s “Jolene,” based on (no, not the Dolly Parton song) E.L. Doctorow’s short story “Jolene: A Life.” The feature stars Jessica Chastain (Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life”) as Jolene, a free spirit who lives a decade of her life as a wanderer who takes up relationships across the U.S. The film boasts a hearty list of co-stars, including Dermot Mulroney, Michael Vartan, Chazz Palminteri, Rupert Friend, and Denise Richards. eOne plans to release the film theatrically in New York this October, with a small screen roll out to follow. The deal was negotiated by Sejin Park of eOne and Leslie Abell and Robert Myman of Next Turn Productions.
