The First 3 Minutes of “Freakonomics”

The First 3 Minutes of "Freakonomics"

The opening minutes of “Freakonomics,” a new doc by a dream team of directors, including Alex Gibney (“Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room” and “Casino Jack and the United States of Money,” both distributed through Magnolia as well), Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing (“Jesus Camp”), Morgan Spurlock (“Super Size Me”), Eugene Jarecki (“Why We Fight”) and Seth Gordon (“The King of Kong”). It’s on VOD now and opens in theaters this weekend.

Illustrated in the clip below, “If there’s only one element that I say is there in almost everything we do, its the idea that incentives matter and if you can figure out what people’s incentives are, you have a good chance of guessing out how they are going to behave.”

The group of directors discussed their film during an indieWIRE event at the Apple Store Soho on the day that it premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
