IFC Midnight Looks Forward to “Dream Home”

IFC Midnight Looks Forward to "Dream Home"

IFC Midnight and Fortissimo Films have sealed a North American distribution deal for Pang Ho-Cheung’s Hong Kong slasher film “Dream Home,” following its U.S. premiere at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival. IFC Midnight plans to release the film theatrically and on VOD in early 2011.

“Dream Home,” set and filmed on location in Hong Kong, stars Josie Ho as a woman who goes to great lengths in order to raise enough money for the house she has always wanted. When working two full-time jobs doesn’t provide the funding she expected, she relies on unethical means to get closer to her goal. Upon discovering that the life insurance from her recently deceased father isn’t enough, Josie resorts to violent measures in hopes of affording her dream possession.

Fortissimo’s Senior VP of Sales and Acquisitions, Winnie Lau, brokered the deal along with Elizabeth Nastro, Director of Acquisitions & Co-Productions for IFC Films.

Lau praised the deal by commenting, “It’s great that the IFC Films team appreciates these innovative and fresh talents from Hong Kong. It’s clear that there is a growing audience for these types of horror films in North America.”

IFC Films president Jonathan Sehring added, “Pang Ho-Cheung has made a deliciously sinister film and is a remarkable new filmmaker coming out of the world of Asian cinema. We are thrilled to be working with our friends at Fortissimo once again here too.”
