Zuckerberg Denies Social Network Frame is Accurate

In a “Startup School” conference at Sanford University, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg talks about how he dropped out of Harvard and how the The Social Network‘s framing device is the thing that’s most wrong with the movie.

The movie got his outfits right, he says, “every single shirt or fleece I own.” But he objects to the “framing of the movie when the girl dumps me as the whole reason for making Facebook,” he says, as if he was building something to get girls or into some social institution. “There’s a big disconnect about what we do in Silicon Valley. They can’t wrap their head around the idea that someone might build something because they like building things.”
