Exit Through The Gift Shop Now On VOD; DVD December 14

The mysterious Exit Through The Gift Shop–the story of how a shopkeeper-filmmaker (Thierry Guetta) tried for five years to make a documentary about street art, only to meet British stencil graffiti artist Banksy, who turned the camera on Guetta instead–has been full of surprises from the start.

The film first screened as a Sundance surprise, scored with critics, and played well for specialty audiences at the spring box office, deploying an unusual release strategy. The latest surprise: Exit Through the Gift Shop is one of fifteen features shortlisted for a documentary Oscar.

For those who missed the doc in theaters, it’s now available On Demand via Cinetic FilmBuff and iTunes. It releases on DVD December 14 via Oscilloscope, including special features: B Movie – An exclusive film about the ‘art’ of Banksy; Life Remote Control (Lawyer’s Edit) and deleted scenes and limited edition inserts designed by Banksy.
