BAMcinématek Fetes Susan Sarandon with Retrospective

Actress and UNICEF Goodwill ambassador Susan Sarandon will be the toast of BAMcinématek early next year. From February 10 – 13, the Brooklyn cinema will screen a 13-film tribute to the Oscar-winning star, cheekily titled ‘The Susan Sarandon Picture Show;’ a riff off the film that kick started her career, Jim Sharman’s cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

Spanning four decades, the tribute includes “Rocky Horror,” as well as Tim Robbins’ “Bull Durham,” Ridley Scott’s “Thelma & Louise,” Paul Schrader’s “Light Sleeper,” and one of her earliest films, Billy Wilder’s “The Front Page,” in which she starred opposite Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau.

Sarandon is slated to appear at some of the screenings for Q&As, as are many of her collaborators throughout the years including Schrader, and John Turturro who directed her in “Romance & Cigarettes.”
