Anne Hathaway Rises as Catwoman in Nolan’s Next Dark Knight: Right Pick?

Anne Hathaway Rises as Catwoman in Nolan's Next Dark Knight: Right Pick?

Versatile actress on-the-rise Anne Hathaway just nabbed one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood. She’ll play Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman, previously played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry) in The Dark Knight Rises across from Christian Bale and bad-guy Tom Hardy.

This year’s Oscar co-host (with jack-of-all-trades James Franco), Hathaway’s disappointing Love & Other Drugs served as a showcase of why she’ll look good in skin-tight Catwoman clothes.

But Hathaway did not rank high on our TOH poll (below) on who should star in The Dark Knight Rises (clearly not indicative of Christopher Nolan’s taste in Batman actresses, from Katie Holmes in Batman Begins to Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight).

The poll places Keira Knightley much higher than Hathaway (Knightley may have a new gig, taking over from pregnant Marion Cotillard on Cosmopolis). There is still a slot open for another actress to jump on board this train to box office glory during Summer 2012: The Dark Knight grossed over $1 billion worldwide, while Batman Begins made $372.7 million. May we hope for someone new?
