The first week of Sundance has arrived and with it the full on, unbridled insanity of the festival. CORMAN’S WORLD: EXPLOITS OF A HOLLYWOOD REBEL premieres Friday at Midnight, SILVER TONGUES two days later at Slamdance. It’s right at this moment when the fears of losing control cut in. I want to grab hold of everything, and try to oversee the smallest details of all the moving parts. Make sure the plan that’s been carefully cultivated over the past months actually kicks into gear and runs like clockwork. Unfortunately when it comes to festivals clockwork is a myth. Some of the things that have been set into motion will work perfectly. Others will crash harder harder than a computer showing the spinning pinwheel of death. Sure, new opportunities will arrive last minute. So will new pitfalls. But trying to seize the reigns won’t do squat. In the end the only way to get through it is to let go and enjoy the ride.
