2011 Oscar Winner Predictions

Ugh.. After 6 days of post-Sundance relative offlinery, I should probably jump back on this ship, right? Though dear god is this awards season ever boring. I’d be lying if I said I was remotely excited about these final 3 weeks of awards season coverage, but I might as well attempt to conjure up some spirit by doing a preliminary round of winner predictions. Over the next three weeks I’ll have detailed winner predictions up at indieWIRE, including for the handful of categories that involve actual suspense: Best documentary feature, best foreign language film, best original score, and best supporting actress. Until then, here’s a basic play by play of how things might go down:

Best picture: The King’s Speech
