Lars Von Trier Is Selling His Diesel Smelling Mobile Home On eBay

As fans of Lars Von Trier know, the provocative director is deathly afraid of flying, one of the key reasons he’s never been to the United States. In fact, his preferred method of transportation has been his 1992 Dethleffs Advange, the mobile camper that he’s driven a handful to times Cannes when he’s premiered his films but alas, it is the end of an era.

The director has put his camper up for sale on eBay. You too can own this part of cinema history (sort of) that, as the description says, “considered an integral of the VIP-parking at Cannes Film Festival,” hosted “several meetings between some of the greatest personalities in the history of film” and has served as the creative outlet for Von Trier who has seen his “biggest ideas [go] from idea to script in this vehicle.” But there’s one catch. The camper smells like diesel fuel. We’ll let Lars explain: “Looking forward to get rid of the smell of Diesel. Hope a potential buyer likes this smell, as Diesel has been poured over the floor several times.” Amazing.

So, you want it? Well, you’re gonna need a minimum of $150,000 and you’ll have to pay for shipping. Might be cheaper for you to fly over there and grab the keys from Lars himself.
