Magnolia Nabs French Thriller "Point Blank"

Magnolia Pictures has acquired North American rights to the Fred Cavaye’s French thriller “Point Blank,” from Gaumont, it was announced today.

Billed as an action film in the vein of “Tell No One,” “Point Blank” stars Gilles Lellouche as a man racing against time through the streets of Paris to save his pregnant, kidnapped wife.

“Cavayé and Lellouche have crafted a heart pumping, edge-of-your-seat action thriller,” said Magnolia SVP Tom Quinn. “Comparisons to ‘Die Hard’ and ‘Taken’ are well deserved.”

“Fred Cavayé’s specialty is films about ordinary men in extraordinary situations, and finding the human perspective in exciting action scenarios,” added Gaumont’s Cecile Gaget. “Magnolia is a very capable distributor for genre films, and we’re glad and proud to be working with them.”
