The New Media Film Festival, which Culture Rehab calls “the Sundance for the Facebook Crowd,” is in its second year, and will run May 20-21 in Los Angeles and November 4-5 in San Francisco. The festival honors stories told in all forms of media that are “innovative, imaginative and inspirational.” Here is the call for submissions; deadline is May 1.
Categories include 3-D Shorts, 3-D Features, Animation, Apps, Digital Comics, Documentary, Feature, LGBT, Audience Choice / Mingle Media TV, Mobile, Music Video, Shorts, Shot on Red Shorts, Shot on Red Features, SRC – Socially Responsible Content, Webisode, and Web Series. In each category, three finalists will be viewed by a distributor, having the chance for online, TV or theatrical distribution. Each category’s winner will be included in “The Best of LA” NMFF screening series, which will be submitted worldwide.
