Released late last night, I’ve been waiting patiently for this New Yorker expose on Scientology for some time now. Via an interview with ex-Scientology member Paul Haggis (who you’ve really got to hand it to for being the first celebrity to speak out like this…), it’s a massive piece (nearly 30,000 words), but it’s still definite required reading. Shedding light on what one can only imagine is the tip of a totally fucked up Scientology iceberg, The New Yorker‘s Lawrence Wright should probably watch his back after painting a very well-researched and very negative picture of the “religion,” and we should all enjoy the fruits of his labor and learn a few things about an organization that has gotten away with some remarkably bad things over the past 50 years.
