Richard Gere Joins Nicholas Jarecki's 'Arbitrage' With Eva Green & Susan Sarandon

Movement continues on the financial world drama “Arbitrage” as it gears up to shoot this spring. A couple of weeks ago, at the same it was revealed that the rapper Drake (who acted on the “Degrassi” before becoming a world famous hip hop artist) was in talks for a role, we learned that Al Pacino had actually dropped out of the picture.

Deadline reports that Richard Gere has come on board the film, and we presume its in the role left vacant by Pacino. If so, he will play “a hedge-fund magnate who struggles to complete the sale of his trading business to a big bank before the level of fraud is exposed. Aside from a shady business, the hedge fund guy juggles a wife (Susan Sarandon) and an art dealer mistress (Eva Green), as well as rivals who want to bring him down.”

Another financial world drama? We’re kind of straining under documentaries that have covered this territory already and weary of the subject matter as a whole, so this will have to be some crackerjack stuff to pique our interesting. Lensing on the film will start in April in New York City.
