The American Cinema Editors announced the winners of their annual ACE Eddie Awards tonight in Los Angeles. David Fincher’s “The Social Network” took top honors in the drama category, with its team of Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall topping the likes of “The King’s Speech” and “The Fighter.” Other major winners included “Exit Through The Gift Shop” and “Alice in Wonderland” in the documentary and comedy/musical categories, respectively.
The ACE Eddie is an extraordinarily good predictor of the Oscars. The film editing Oscar winner has also been an ACE Eddie winner for 9 years running, with the last time there was no crossover being in 2000, when “Traffic” won the Oscar while “Gladiator” and “Almost Famous” were the ACE Eddie winners.
Check out a list of the winners in each category below, and of all the announced awards so far this year here.
