Berlin, Germany (March 15, 2011) Instinctive Film in association with Twitchfilm.com have launched a new and unique – film specific crowd funding platform which is tipped to be the ultimate interactive experience for those willing to participate. The platform is a membership driven social community for movies being campaigned on Interactor which offers unique perks to its members. Participants will be able to access exclusive daily video diaries, communicate via a blog regularly with filmmakers, view daily set photos and also gain access to the production set and attend cast and crew screenings for a low entry fee of $5. The choice and the level of each participant’s involvement is entirely up to them; and the contributions go towards the marketing of the film.

This new way of raising funds for films involves filmmakers to produce smart ideas while enticing and motivating the public to join the site.

Interactor has a unique function; the Splinter option that offers people a chance to essentially buy their way into the movie business subject to that person raising a target amount of contributions for the film. By ‘Splintering’ off the site and reaching the target, that person will qualify to earn an Executive Producer credit and position on the film. Any participant who reaches the target raise has open access to the production, the editing and all subsequent screenings as well as potentially participating in further monetary upside generated from any given movie that they wish to support. Crowd funding is a new marketing tool for independent filmmakers to not only raise funds for their projects but also a way to engage their audience. “We’re seeing a dynamic shift in the business model of how indie films are being financed. And this new tool is an effective audience building strategy,” Welch says.

Another part of the site which is still in construction is utilizing the resources of Twitchfilm.com to provide the public with more say in the type of independent films that are made: Interactor which is owned by financing and production house Instinctive Film plans to offer the public a chance to vote for one of three projects to be produced annually, with financing for one of them already secured. The public will vote for the project that they wish to see go into production. Participants who vote will be able to track the film’s progress, from pre to post-production, and eventually the release.

Instinctive Film’s, Darryn Welch says, “It’s a chance for people to have more say in the kind of films they want to see get made. It also connects us better from the ground up with our audience, enabling us to produce a movie that has essentially been requested by the fans. It’s a grass-roots marketing opportunity for the film that gets the most votes and goes into production.” Cole Payne who heads up North American Operations says, “This is why we call it an interactive movie experience. Choices are more audience driven. It’s a business model that allows us to connect better with the consumer, not just the industry.” Interactor goes live this weekend offering Instinctive Film’s latest production as it’s flagship Interactor project – the Sci-Fi detective Thriller ‘ERRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY’ written and directed by ‘THE DIVIDE’ scribe Eron Sheean. ‘THE DIVIDE’ received its World Premiere on Sunday, March 13th at SXSW.
