A veteran producer and director, To worked at HBO on several projects including Robert Redford’s Grand Avenue and three Emmy-winning Tom Hanks miniseries: From the Earth to the Moon, Band of Brothers and The Pacific. To also directed several episodes of both Band of Brothers and The Pacific. On the indie feature side, To produced Carl Franklin and Billy Bob Thornton’s One False Move.
Glen Basner’s two-year-old production and foreign sales company FilmNation Entertainment has hired Karen Lunder as its LA-based exec vp of production, reporting to production president Aaron Ryder.
Lunder was president of production at Landscape Entertainment and ran Gil Netter Productions, where she oversaw Marley & Me. She started her career at New York indie October Films.
FilmNation is currently in post-production on House at the End of the Street, starring Jennifer Lawrence, and James McTeigue’s The Raven, starring John Cusack and Luke Evans. FilmNation plans to produce three to four films a year. Currently in development at FilmNation are F*cking Engaged, which is set to star Jessica Biel, The Amateur American which has Evans attached, and Message from the King, written by Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell.
