He’s been working on it for about five years, but acclaimed musician/producer Danger Mouse will unveil his concept album Rome, on May 17. A collaboration with composer Daniele Luppi, the album is pegged as a tribute to Italian music of the 1960s, especially film scores. Therefore, it’s kind of perfect to have the album drop during the Cannes Film Festival, and I personally can’t wait to have it in my iPod when I’m there. Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi recorded the album with a gaggle of elderly Italian musicians, and recruited Jack White and Norah Jones for vocal assistance. Here’s a preview of the album, framed around a recent photo shoot with all four of them:
