The Eighth Documentary Film Festival China, initially scheduled for May 1-7, has been canceled after the First Beijing International Film Festival announced its own documentary section. Fearing more turmoil along the lines of recent arrests and legal troubles for dissenters in China, the festival organizers put the kibosh on their own event.
