Video: "When Harry Met Sally" Sequel Replaces Meg Ryan With Helen Mirren

Starting out like something out of “The Player,” an hilarious new spoof from Funny or Die shows us what a “When Harry Met Sally” sequel pitch (and the eventual film’s trailer) might look like today. Rob Reiner and Billy Crystal are back for the pretend follow-up, the title for which I won’t spoil because it’s part of the “tweak” twist, which makes fun of today’s biggest Hollywood narrative trends. I will at least mention that this video features such currently hot comedic personalities as Adam Scott and Mike Tyson.

And best of all, Helen Mirren has replaced Meg Ryan (Sally is apparently dead), which I think is kind of fitting since Dame Helen is proof that plastic surgery is unnecessary for actresses in later years — not that Mirren is against procedures or getting them done, but she sure looks great without any known work done. I wonder if it would have been too cruel for Crystal-as-Harry to make some remark about how Sally’s crinkle above her nose is gone. Or for Sally to still be alive but Harry left her because that special thing he loved about her has been ruined by botox.

Anyway, I love the update on Harry’s grape-spitting scene. Watch the video after the jump and be glad there will never ever really be a “When Harry Met Sally” sequel (a remake, maybe, but that’s okay since “WHMS” is like an “Annie Hall” remake anyway).

This reminds me of the horror version of the original “When Harry Met Sally”:
