I’ll be honest and say that I’m not as familiar with the Glyph Awards or the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention as I probably should be at this point. This is probably the first time we’ve ever mentioned either of them on Shadow And Act; and it certainly won’t be the last.
From The Beat online: “The 2011 Glyph Award winners, recognizing the best in comics made by, for, and about people of color from the preceding calendar year, were presented yesterday at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention in Philadelphia. Fist Stick Knife Gun won three, Unknown Soldier won two, and Keith Knight won a record setting fifth award for Best Comic Strip or Webcomic for his strip The K Chronicles.”
The complete list of winners can be found HERE.
I already ordered copies for myself, but, in the meantime, if you’ve read any of these titles, feel free to chime in. Further, I’m curious about their movie adaptation potential, since Hollywood is so adaptation hungry these days.
