Cannes Flashback 2007: Jonze, Cuaron, the Leagues

As we get ready for the annual Cannes Film Festival, I wanted to share some photos from Cannes past. Here are some that I took during the 2007 edition:

(Walking up the steps of the Palais, into the Lumiere, about to see a midnight premiere of the concert film ‘U2 3D.’ The superstar band performed a couple of songs on the steps moments before we were allowed inside.)

(Filmmaker/actor/skateboarder Spike Jonze attends a cocktail reception at the Carlton, for his new project with Charlie Kaufman, ‘Synecdoche, New York.’ At the time, the film was in production. It would premiere at Cannes the following year.)

(Former indieWIRE editor Eugene Hernandez chats with ‘Children of Men’ director Alfonso Cuaron at a reception announcing the formation of cha cha cha, a new production company headed by Cuaron, Guillermo del Toro, and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.)

(Alamo Drafthouse co-founders, Karrie and Tim League, hosted a gang of people over to their apartment during their first trip to the festival. They would quickly become regulars.)
