Entertainment Weekly's Best of Summer: Bateman, Galifianakis, Aniston, Carell, Gosling, Abrams, More

EW’s Best of Summer edition is on newstands May 27. As for the Best of Summer Movies, they’ve culled some soundbites from the stars. A selection is below.

Cover-boy and The Change-Up star Jason Bateman admits: “I’m just not that exciting to follow. I’m happily married, I’ve got a cute little girl, and all my drugging and drinking was done back before there were camera phones.”

Zach Galifianakis on The Hangover Part II (May 26): “Someone asked me about Hangover 3 the other day,..and my heart stopped.”

Actor Charlie Day on co-star Jennifer Aniston, in Horrible Bosses (July 8): “Jennifer spent the whole movie sexually harassing me, talking filthy to me and basically doing everything she possibly could to get me to sleep with her… As for her performance, it was pretty damn good too.

Actress Octavia Spencer on The Help (August 12): “The cast reminds me of the ensembles from The Color Purple, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias,.. I’m so proud as an actress.”

J.J. Abrams on the mystery and risk of Super 8 (June 10): “It feels especially appropriate for a movie like Super 8, which isn’t a sequel or based on a comic-book superhero. When you’re the little sapling among the redwoods of the summer movie season, you’ve got to use what you got.”

EW is also hailing star-packed (Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei, Kevin Bacon, etc) Crazy, Stupid, Love (July 29) as the “Best Romantic Comedy Ever Made (Recently).”
