Horror films have exhibited more staying power this time around than during their usual arc, as in Cabin Fever in 2002 which sparked a horror wave that lasted less time and did not spread internationally as this time.

A NEW COMEDY HORROR LOVE STORY

BERLIN, FEB. 11, 2011 – Celebrated director Joe Dante will next helm ‘Monster Love’, a comedy horror love story for Arclight Films genre label Darclight, it is announced at the European Film Market in Berlin.
Dante, who directed such horror hits as The Howling and Gremlins, returns with the story of a werewolf and a vampire who fall in love and ignite an inter-species war, a tale described as ‘Romeo and Juliet with fangs!’
The screenplay is written by Greg Pak, who wrote Robot Stories and a number of comic book titles, among them The Incredible Hulk, X-Men: Magneto and Battlestar Galactica.
Elizabeth Stanley and Frederic Brost are producing “Monster Love” which is presently in pre-production and will shoot in Paris and on locations in Europe.
