Launched in 1992 by Anna Soler-Pont, Pontas began a literary, film and TV agency representing internationally a broad range of authors internationally, selling rights throughout the world in as many markets and across as many media as possible. From licensing literary rights, Pontas began licensing film rights to the literary properties she represented. Then she began producing the films herself, and as of last year she began representing those films in the international film markets. Pontas will also help coordinate the new two day film program at this year’s Frankfurt BookFair aimed at attracting film producers to see the latest books on offer. This is a lucrative field when one considiers that the number of films and TV series produced internationally adapting books is over 25% and this percentage continues to grow. This is why the Frankfurt Book Fair wants to encourage producers from all over the world to meet with film rights holders of adaptable books next October 12 and 13, 2011 at the “Content for Films” program during the first two days of this year’s book fair, within the framework of the Frankfurt StoryDrive, which brings together representatives from the entire media and entertainment world. Conferences, study cases, speed-matching meetings and networking dinners will be organised for producers attending.
Among the films in which Pontas has been involved as agency or producer are:
Asha – TV Cartoon series
Asha, Daughter of the Ganges – Documentary
Lost in Wonderland – Documentary
08006 Barcelona – Spain
