International Sales Agent of the Day: Urban Distribution International

Urban Distribution, a French based international sales agent founded in 2004 by Frédéric Corvez has changed its name from UMedia.

This new name, coupled with an expansion into theatrical distribution, will be inaugurated in style at the Film Market at the 64th Cannes Film Festival where the company has two titles selected in the different sections.

Brazilian duo Marco Dutra and Juliana Rojas’s ♀ Hard Labor will be in Un Certain Regard selection. Last year the French seller October (Octubre) won the Jury Prize.

The company will also sell Eva Ionesco’s ♀French film My Little Princess starring Isabelle Huppert. This debut feature, which will be presented as a special screening for the 50th anniversary of International Critics’ Week (SIC), will have a special showing on May 16 at the Palais des Festivals.

Urban Distribution International has increasingly numerous titles showcasing in major festivals (including Paula Markovitch’s ♀ Prize in competition at this year’s Berlinale which also won in Guadalajara Film Festival where N.Y. based Eric Schnedecker, head of sales and distribution, is a regular participant. International arthouse films by promising young filmmakers and renowned directors whose films distinguish themselves through innovation and originality has made Urban Distribution aims to bring quality cinema to the largest audience possible on every continent. To maintain the same commitment and the same service on each film they represent, They to acquire a maximum of seven new films a year.
