Giorgio Gosetti has been named the new Program Director at the Reykjavik International Film Festival. He replaces Dimitri Eipides who was recently named director of the the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival. Gosetti, who is also director of the Venice Days section of the Venice Film Festival, will be reponsible for New Visions, the main section of Reykjavik. He will also serve as General Program Advisor for the RIFF’s other sections.
“We are very honoured to work with Giorgio Gosetti, one of the finest film programmers in the world and welcome him to an enthusiastic public awaiting his choices for the festival,” commented RIFF Director Hronn Marinosdottir in a statement. “We are also deeply indebted to the incomparable Dimitri Eipides who brought his superb programming skills to a fledgling festival and made it a great success.”
The 8th Reykjavik International Film Festival will take place September 22 – October 2. Typically the event screens 100 features in ten programs.
