Conan’s Website is Sarah Palin’s Classroom

Conan O’Brien has had a lot of fun with Sarah Palin’s fractured sense of history, from her defense of her dead-wrong telling of the Paul Revere story to the way a Sarah Palin History Channel would imagine the Founding Fathers. And he’s not through trying to educate her. The Conan website has created “The Terrible Twenty: Sarah Palin History Lessons,” in which the Conan writers offer Palin’s most important lessons on U.S. history.

Number 1 sounds like something she might actually believe: “George Washington chopped down a cherry tree to whittle himself a new pair of dentures.”

Number 7 is equally plausible: “The Underground Railroad is what they call subways in England.”

But my personal favorite is Number 4: “The Roaring 20s marked a dark period in US history when lions roamed the streets.”

The site lists 10 lessons and is asking readers to suggest more to complete the 20. You can read all 10 and see how to submit your own at the Team Coco site.
