"The Waves" and "Chapiteau Show" Receive Top Awards at Moscow Film Festival

The Moscow International Film Festival wrapped up over the weekend with Alberto Morais’ Spanish film “The Waves” taking the Golden St. George, the fest’s top award. “Chapiteau Show,” by Russian director Sergei Loban, won the Silver St. George.

Wong Ching Po took the best director’s award for Chinese film “Revenge: a Love Story.” The ‘Perspectives’ competition, which features directors’ first and second films, was awarded to the “Anarchy in Zirmunai,” directed by Saulius Drunga.

Danfung Dennis’ “Hell and Back Again,” won the best documentary award.

John Malkovich and Helen Mirren were both also honored with outstanding contribution and achievement awards, respectively.
