Closing Night Film for the London Film Festival: Rachel Weisz in "The Deep Blue Sea"

The 55th BFI London Film Festival will close Oct. 27 with the UK premiere of “The Deep Blue Sea,” starring Rachel Weisz and adapted and directed by Terence Davies.

Set in post-war Britain, this adaptation of Terence Rattigan’s play is the story of Hester Collyer, a woman who leads a privileged life in 1950s London as the wife to a high court judge when she walks out on her marriage to move in with young ex-RAF pilot.

“The Deep Blue Sea” will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Slated for a UK release Nov. 25 through Artificial Eye, it’s looking for a North American distributor.
