Finally! Anchor Bay has picked a release date for Venice competition title Texas Killing Fields, starring Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jessica Chastain and Chloe Grace Moretz, on October 7 (Italian trailer below).
Written by longtime technical adviser, ex-DEA agent Don Ferrarone (Miami Vice) and directed by producer Michael Mann’s daughter Ami Canaan Mann (Morning), the dark Zodiac-style thriller, based on a true story, follows a pair of homicide detectives from coastal Texas and New York City (Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Sam Worthington) as they examine a series of unsolved murders in the I-45 dumping ground in Calder, Texas after Moretz goes missing. The ubiquitous Jessica Chastain also stars.
Anchor Bay is often a B-movie dumping ground; they don’t put much marketing behind their theatrical releases. So here’s hoping we get a screener or invite.
