"The Three Musketeers" Opening Tokyo International Film Festival

The Tokyo International Film Festival announced today that its official opening night screening will be Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3-D adaptation of “The Three Musketeers.” The film will be released stateside by Summit Entertainment on October 21, 2011.

Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) announced today that “The Three Musketeers” by the highly acclaimed director, Paul W.S. Anderson (“Resident Evil” and “Mortal Kombat”), has been selected as the official opening film for the 24th TIFF.
Based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, the film is a powerful action adventure update in 3-D starring Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz.

The 24th TIFF will be held from October 22 to 30, 2011 at Roppongi Hills and other venues in Tokyo.

The film will be released by GAGA (Japan) on October 28, 2011.

The hot-headed young D’Artagnan(Logan Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson) in this reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ story. They must stop the evil Richlieu (Christoph Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Milla Jovovich). The action adventure is given a state of the art update in 3-D.
