In Roman Polanski’s upcoming Carnage, Christoph Waltz and Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly portray two sets of Manhattan couples who try to debrief a fight between their eleven-year-old sons. As their discussion continues, things take a turn for the Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and fly wildly out of control.
The trailer (posted below) displays some absurd drunkenness, malicious mimicking, cell-phone flailing, flower destroying and an Oscar-winner vomiting into a trash can. Polanski has adapted the play from Yasmina Reza’s Tony-winning stage play God of Carnage. Polanski’s version is set to open the New York Film Festival on September 30 and will hit theaters December 16, 2011.
