A TIFF Lament

A TIFF Lament

For yet another year in a row I am missing the Toronto Film Festival, which also happens to be one of my favorites on the whole film festival circuit (as some call it). It seems that September always seems to involve some-sort of production or post-production activity keeping me in NY (or in this case sunny LA). This means I have not experienced the no-longer-new Lightbox Theater or gone drinking at the “place to be” (previously the Park Hyatt and before that Bistro 990) nor have I had my fair share of hotdogs smothered in the mass of toppings that are so nicely offered by Toronto street vendors. All I have is a twitter feed overflowing with microreviews of some of the fall’s most exciting films and hotel complaints and random pieces of gossip that taken out of context make absolutely no sense. I guess that will have to do. Next year TIFF, I hope we can be re-united.
