iPOP | This Week on the Scene: NYFF, Wall Street, "Dirty Girl" & More

This week the 49th New York Film Festival kept iPOP buzzing with click-worthy activity. Everybody from Kirsten Dunst to Michael Fassbender to Martin Scorsese dropped by the event to unveil their latest works and charm the local press.

The coming of age comedy “Dirty Girl” also screened in New York, outside of the festival. It’s rising star, Juno Temple, was on hand to party the night away alongside director Abe Sylvia.

Premieres and festivals weren’t the only things to bring out filmmakers to the streets of Manhattan. Influential filmmaker, archivist, writer and activist Jonas Mekas was pictured supporting the Occupy Wall Street protests. He told indieWIRE, “As a film-maker and a poet, I feel it’s my duty to be an eye and an antenna to what’s happening around me. I always felt a solidarity with those who are desperate and confused and misused and are seeking a way out of it. So I had to be there.”
