Watch: Michelle Williams Sure Looks the Part in Trailer for "My Week With Marilyn"

The Weinstein Company finally unveiled the trailer for “My Week With Marilyn” (it opens in less than a month and premieres at the New York Film Festival this weekend), so the question is: How does Michelle Williams stack up as the legendary screen siren? Pretty darn well, it seems.

Up until now, we’ve only been treated to still shots from the film and a Vogue cover shoot with Williams as Monroe. One thing the pictures have made crystal clear: Williams sure looks the part. She does in the trailer too. And judging by the 2-minute spot, Williams seems to have mined the complexities behind the doomed legend. Sure, she rackets up her voice a few octaves higher than usual to mimic Monroe’s coquettish voice, but there seems to be more to this performance than mere mimicry.

And the movie itself? The biopic helmed by TV veteran Simon Curtis looks solid, albeit conventional. The drama centers on Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), an employee of Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh), who witnesses first hand the rocky relationship between Olivier and Monroe during the production of “The Prince and the Showgirl.”

What’s your take on Williams as Monroe? Hit or miss?
