Project of the Day: Friendship Drama in "Corliss and Citizen"

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

“Corliss and Citizen”

Tweetable Logline:

Corliss and Citizen is a feature length movie about three friends, broken dreams, and the resilience of surviving an identity crisis.
Elevator Pitch:
Corliss and Citizen follows three main characters whose lives become beautifully braided when the protagonist impulsively leaves the US to pursue her dancing career. The story evolves as the characters’ lives become tangled in romance and the pressures that society brings down on their dreams. The story is about letting go of inhibition and intuition running amok. Corliss, Frank and Clara are a trifecta of self-fulfilling prophets. It continues the tradition of the French New Wave and is my homage.
Production Team:
Writer/Director: James Glader
About the Production:
My talent and style in film theory is “chasing light” and letting the pictures take themselves. As a comic book and storyboard artist turned photographer, I have learned that the best shots take themselves; if you are patient and aware, the best moments are revealed. 10 years of shooting stills and realizing how much I was not expressing with the missing element of movement have been the biggest motivation to begin moving along a narrative line.
