First Look At 'Wrath Of The Titans' & 'Neighborhood Watch' With Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Vince Vaughn & Richard Ayoade

We have to admit, we’re still excited whenever we get our hands on an issue of Entertainment Weekly and get a first peek at an upcoming movie, even if its something we aren’t all that interested in seeing. Since the rise of the internet however, we are pretty glad to not suffer through pages about “The Last Survivor Bachelorette” or whatever mind-numbing reality show is getting a three page spread just to see Ben Stiller in some sweatpants. Shhh. You’re welcome. Just take it.

Anyway, the new issue hitting the stands features first looks at two upcoming 2012 releases. The first is “Wrath of The Titans,” the dubiously-demanded sequel to the “Clash of The Titans” remake that bored audiences worldwide to the tune of $493 million. Aside from knowing Perseus has a new haircut (Sam Worthington, chameleon!), we do see that, yes, like its predecessor, there will be some fighting, charging, and maybe yelling. Studio echo chamber Jonathan Liebesman (“Battle: Los Angeles“) is directing, and the plot centers on Hades (Ralph Fiennes) kidnapping Zeus (Liam Neeson) and taking him into the underworld. Wait, how exactly do you kidnap ZEUS? Whatever, “Wrath of The Titans.”

In case you’re curious, the trident that Worthington holds is one of several weapons that Perseus has to collect “in order to create one uber-weapon,” Liebesman told EW. “But that’s probably a massive spoiler. I haven’t practiced being spoiler proof yet.” So uh, thanks for the warning?

EW also provided us with the first look at “Neighborhood Watch,” the upcoming Akiva Schaffer-directed comedy that stars the murderer’s row of Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Richard Ayoade, Will Forte and Billy Crudup. We get those first four poised for action in what looks like their “uniforms,” and it only makes us think at how oddly frail the former Zoolander looks, and the likelihood that Ayoade is going to steal this whole thing. A quote from producer Shawn Levy (oh, GOOD) summarizes, “Really it’s the foulmouthed story of four guys being forced into a situation for which they are utterly ill-equipped.” He adds, “I’ll say that it has a supernatural element and it’s not of this world,” in regards to the film’s main threat, though we were under the impression it had already been revealed to be aliens. Update: IMDB has another new image from the film which you can see below.

“Wrath Of The Titans” hits theaters March 30th. “Neighborhood Watch” tries to serve as “The Dark Knight Rises” counterprogramming on July 27th.
