Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants” topped the winners of the Southeastern Film Critics Association’s annual awards. The film took honors for best picture, actor (George Clooney) and adapted screenplay.
Other major winners included Meryl Streep, Christopher Plummer and Janet McTeer, who all won acting awards, and Martin Scorsese, who won best director for “Hugo.”
