“No Room for Rockstars” premiered at Slamdance on January 22. Then it will play one night on Cinedigm digital screens across the country, on March 1, 2012. “No Room for Rockstars” showcases the various musicians, rock and rollers, and scenesters that congregate at Vans Warped Tour.
The film touches on the 17 years of the cross-country North American music festival that has served as a launching pad for talent including Green Day, Sublime, Blink 182, Enimen, and No Doubt. The under-dog friendly tour hit 43 cities, over 1700 miles, and featured 200 bands in 2010.
Under the guidance of director Parris Patton (“Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who”) and the production team behind 2001’s “Dogtown and Z-Boys,” the upcoming music documentary draws from over 300 hours of footage from the 2010 festival.
After its one night event on March 1, 2012, the film will be released on iTunes on April 2, and then on DVD on May 8.
