Brett Ratner & Adam Shankman Line Up TV Pilots; Paz De La Huerta Exits 'Boardwalk Empire' & Louis CK Returns To 'Parks & Recreation'

Listen, going to the movies rules, but sometimes, you just want to sit on the couch with giant bag of [insert favorite snack food here] and watch TV. And considering the insane of great stuff these days on the small screen, it doesn’t take much convincing to stay home. So here’s a brief round up of some TV bits and bobs.

First up, Brett Ratner will make his first post-shrimpgate move by directing a pilot for Fox. The currently untitled show is basically a rip off of “Hanna,” centering on a 17 year-old girl who is recruited to become a CIA operative and falls under the guardianship of a mysterious surrogate father/profressional mentor. Really, Fox? Anyway, it was written by Karyn Usher who also has penned and produced “Bones” and “Prison Break.” Fox is hoping the roll of the dice with Ratner works as the last two pilots he directed for the network — “Prison Break” and “Chaos” — went to series.

Meanwhile, over at NBC, they’ve tapped the very busy Adam Shankman (“Rock Of Ages“) to helm a new comedy pilot from Hilary Winston (“Happy Endings,” “Community“). The show will centers on a shy woman who is dumped by her fiancé and with the help of her co-workers, comes out of her shell and plots her revenge. We’re not laughing already!

While this was sort of obvious, it’s now official. The certifiably crazy, frequently undressed Paz De La Huerta is officially out of “Boardwalk Empire.” It’s not too much of a surprise considering her character literally ran away in the middle of the second season, but it does mean we won’t have to fear her screeching back into the series next season.

And we’ve saved the best for last: the awesome Louis C.K. is returning to reprise his role as Dave the cop in “Parks & Recreation.” Fans of the show will remember that Louis featured in a season 2 arc when he romanced Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) in one of the show’s more endearing subplots. He was pretty ace on the show, nailing the smart yet kind of innocent small city cop perfectly. This time around Leslie bumps into Dave and then asks him to endorse her campaign, but the bigger question is how she runs into him at all, since when they last met, he was leaving for a big job in San Diego. Either way, more Louis C.K. is always a good thing. [Deadline/Deadline/Vulture/ONTD]
