Eric Bana & Rebecca Hall Ex-Lovers for Focus/Working Title Thriller; Plus What’s Next for Each

Eric Bana & Rebecca Hall Ex-Lovers for Focus/Working Title Thriller; Plus What's Next for Each

As we announced last week, Focus Features and Working Title have paired Eric Bana (“Hanna,” “Munich”) and Rebecca Hall (“The Town,” “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) for an untitled thriller. If you’ve missed Bana and Hall, rest assured they both have a few projects lined up or on their way…

Bana is attached to Cary Elwes directorial debut, “Elvis & Nixon” and has completed crime drama “Blackbird” with Olivia Wilde, Sissy Spacek, Charlie Hunnan and Kris Kristofferson. He’s also linked to Sheldon Turner’s “By Virtue Fall.” Hall stars in Nick Murphy’s “The Awakening,” which premiered at Toronto before getting picked up by Cohen Media Group, and in Stephen Frears’ comedy “Lay the Favorite,” which just debuted (to poor reviews) at Sundance.

The Australian actor and British actress will begin shooting the untitled thriller this April in the UK, with director John Crowley. The story, from Steven Knight’s (“Eastern Promises”) script, finds Bana and Hall as ex-lovers working together on a terrorism trial; their lives are put at risk and their loyalties tested. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and “The Guard”‘s Chris Clark are producing, and Focus will be handling international sales at Cannes. Focus says the film will “speak to the heart of the human condition in our time.”
