Oscar Talk: Pre-Show Final Calls

Oscar Talk: Pre-Show Final Calls

Oscar predicting isn’t for sissies, especially as Kris Tapley and I have reputations to protect. I can assure you of one thing. I went conservative this year. No wild out-of-the-box predictions (like last year), unless sticking with George Clooney over SAG-winner Jean Dujardin is a reckless move. Not really.

Yes, “The Artist” and “Hugo” should each win four, “The Help” and “The Descendants” two, “Midnight in Paris,” “Beginners,” and “The Tree of Life” one.  And The Weinsteins will clean up because on top of “The Artist” they may win doc for “Undefeated” and makeup for “Iron Lady,” if not Meryl Streep.

Most scary are the following categories: documentary feature and shorts, best actor, costumes, sound editing and sound mixing. These are the picks that separate the men from the boys.

My final predicts are here. Listen to the podcast below or click here.
