Red Balls

Tweetable Logline:

Four teams from the grittiest corners of Chicago meet for a no-holds-bar dodgeball tournamente.

Elevator Pitch:

Fully Improvised and shot mockumentary-guerilla style, “Red Balls” shows the true face of Chicago’s roughest and most intense underground dodgeball league. 4 teams go head-to-head in a no-holds bar tournament in an abandoned warehouse on the south-side. Each team is composed of a a collection of hilarious and truly unique characters; ranging from a dust and syrup loving rap group to one of the richest and most established families in the city. The whole movie is shot improv without script, including the championship tournament.

Production Team:

Director: Andrew Morris
Producers: Andrew Morris
Exec Producers: Micah Ross & Patrick Stakenas
Editor: Andrew Morris, Bernardo Lopez, Austin Brown,
Cinematographer: Grant Stakenas

About the Production:

“We started this project out as a short sketch. It evolved into what was planned to be a web series but we eventually decided on a feature film. The entire story and every scene is shot fully improvised. The tournament itself was decided by the actors really playing each other while in character. We combined efforts with our fellow Chicago sketch comedy groups to put something out that all of our fans could enjoy. We made this movie in efforts with FnD Films and RubyDog Movies. We hope to self-distribute this movie through ours and other websites.” -Micah Ross
